Both the accused were involved in dozen cases and convicted in 209 cases

Hyderabad: The police has arrested two notorious burglars involved in around a dozen cases. The prime accused Manthri Shankar alias Shivanna alias Shiva Prasad is the son-in-law of the other accused Sanjai Patil. Shankar is a habitual criminal. He was convicted in 209 cases. About 400 grams gold was recovered from the arrested men.
Both are residents of Ausa town in the Latur district of Maharashtra. Police said Shankar has committed about 250 offences since the 1980s. “He spends the money got by selling the stolen booty on luxuries. One NBW is pending against him at the Trimulgherry police station,” said DCP R. Jaya Lakshmi. While Shankar commits burglaries the booty is sold by Sanjai.
Cops say Shankar takes convictions lightly. Whenever he is arrested he admits the offences in court. He comes out after serving the sentence and continues burglaries. He has now turned into a habitual criminal,” DCP Jaya Lakshmi said.
