Woman YSR Congress leader beats up district chief

Ganta Susheela and her husband assaulted district president Singireddy Bhaskar Reddy
Karimnagar: A woman leader of the YSR Congress, along with her husband, thrashed the party’s district president for not intimating her about Independence Day celebrations, held in the party office precincts here on Friday. The incident has exposed bickering among leaders of the party, which is fighting for its existence in the district.
Self proclaimed town president Ganta Susheela and her husband Sathish assaulted district president Singireddy Bhaskar Reddy with their slippers, following a heated argument over intimation, soon after unfurling the flag at the party’s office located in Seetharampur.
The other members of the party tried to pacify the couple, but in vain. Ms Susheela accused him of being autocratic and selling the party’s tickets to candidates in the recent general elections.
“He has been organising many programmes of the party as if it were his personal functions. He is not communicating with any of the members. He is ruining the party in the district,” she maintained. She also alleged that Mr Reddy was misbehaving with women workers of the party and using filthy language, while talking to them.
But, Mr Reddy said she intentionally thrashed him by colluding with some persons.
“She is like my sister. I never misbehaved with any activist of the party,” he said, adding, she was not given any post hence her anger.
Karimnagar rural police registered a case against Mr Bhaskar Reddy under SC/ST Atrocities Act for abusing Ms Susheela in the name her caste. Ms Susheela filed a case with the police in the evening.
