Coal reserve can fuel 8000 megawatts of power generation per annum for 30 years

Kurnool: The Geological Survey of India informed the AP government that huge reserves of coal deposits were discovered in Chintalapudi sub-basin of West Godavari district, which can fuel 8,000 MW of power generation per annum for at least 30 years.
Revealing this on Friday, AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said, “The new findings are a blessing. Now, we will have to talk to the Centre on the modalities to exploit the coal reserves to strengthen the power sector.” The coal reserves spread from Khammam district to Gauridevipet, Bottapagudem, Amavaram, Gattugudem, T. Narsapuram and Chintalapudi areas of West Godavari district.
