IGP rank Officer writes letter on spat between him and his boss which took place in front of staff members
Bengaluru: An alleged ugly spat between two senior police officers has further sullied the image of the Police Department, which is yet to recover from the recent controversy involving Additional Director General of Police P. Ravindranath in the infamous ‘clickgate’ incident. According to sources in the Home Department, an officer of the rank of Inspector General of Police in the Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation has reportedly written official letter addressed to the Home Minister, Chief Secretary, Director General and Inspector General of Police and Additional Chief Secretary, Home on the alleged spat between him and his boss – an officer of the rank of Director General of Police, which allegedly took place this week in the presence of some staff members.
“The officer has written to the government on the unsavory turn of events in the last one week including alleged disruption of his routine official meetings by the senior officer and the recent altercation between the two this week, which was in the presence of some staff members.
The two officers allegedly came to blows,” said an official source. In the recent transfer of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers the government had transferred Additional Director General of Police and Managing Director, KSPHC Praveen Sood (1986 batch of IPS) as Principal Secretary, Home and handed over the additional charge of MD, Police Housing Corporation to IGP, Anti Naxal Force Seemant Singh (1996 batch of IPS).
The Corporation is headed by DGP and Chairman B Umapathi, who heads the Board meetings, which are held once in every three months. He belongs to the 1981 batch of IPS.
