Hiccup at Hyderabad police vehicle launch

Newly launched police vehicles in Hyderabad rammed into another police vehicle
Hyderabad: One of the newly launched police vehicles in Hyderabad rammed into another police vehicle resulting in both the automobiles getting damaged. This delayed the rally of new Innova cars on Thursday.
Incidentally, minutes before the incident, the Telangana director-general of police Anurag Sharma had said that 135 police drivers had failed the driving test conducted by the police department before the launch of the vehicles.
After the Chief Minister flagged off the vehicles, the rally was passing through Tank Bund.
“At the traffic signal, under the Telugu Talli flyover, due to a sudden traffic congestion, a driver stopped the car abruptly. The car following it, rammed into it causing damage to both vehicles,” said a police official from Hyderabad.
A total 100 Innova vehicles and 300 motor bikes were launched as police vehicles on Thursday.
The training for drivers and operators was given by the Administrative Staff College of India and AP Police Academy.
DGP Anurag Sharma said that the vehicles had GPS system, tablets, cameras, and VHF sets. All the vehicles can be tracked. Whenever any incident occurrs at a particular place, the vehicle nearest to that location will be alerted and it will rush to the spot, officials said.
Senior officials said that more drivers will be trained as more vehicles will be launched soon.
