Eamcet Web counselling from August 17

Allotment of colleges by August 30, classes to start from September 1
Hyderabad: Eamcet common admissions to engineering colleges, through the Web option, will begin from August 17 and will go on till August 25. Students can exercise their choice of colleges and streams during this period according to their ranks.
Officials announced that the allotment of colleges would be done on August 30 and classes would commence from September 1, in accordance with the Supreme Court directions. Certificate verification is currently underway in Andhra Pradesh, while it is to begin in Telangana on Thursday.
The admissions committee of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education met here on Wednesday to decide on the dates for Web option entry. However, the chairpersons of the higher education councils of both states stayed away from the meeting.
Announcing the schedule, Ajay Jain, commissioner, technical education department, Andhra Pradesh, and convenor of the Eamcet Admissions Committee, said, “Common Web option entry in the two states will begin from August 17 and go on till August 25. Change of option of college and stream will be allowed on August 26 and 27. Allotments will be released on August 30.”
About 50,000 students, in order of their ranks, will be able to exercise options in blocks of two days each. Since it is Web counselling, students can exercise their options from anywhere over the Internet.
Ms Shailaja Ramaiyer, commissioner, Technical Education department, Telangana, and co-convenor of the committee, said that renewal of affiliations of colleges would be completed before August 15.
