Rights body seeks dog bite report

83 per cent of dog bite victims are children aged between 2 to 14 years

Hyderabad: In response to the report on dog bite menace in Deccan Chronicle, the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has suo motu taken up the issue of dog menace and has served a notice to the GHMC commissioner.

“Amongst the victims of dog bites, 83 per cent are children between the age group of 2 to 14 years,” pointed out Achyuta Rao, member of the APSCPCR.

The Commission sought a report by August 25, on what was the action being taken by the GHMC commissioner and how the Corporation officials have been dealing with the problem.
