Toilets first, mobiles later says Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu

Don’t marry boys who don’t have toilets at home: CM
Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, asked villagers at Gandavaram village on Friday that if they could own the latest mobile phones, why couldn’t they build toilets for their homes?
Mr Naidu is on a two-day tour of Vizag, his first after being sworn-in as the Chief Minister. Politicians across the country have focused on toilets and sanitation for long and former Union minister Jairam Ramesh had courted controversy when he said that toilets were more important than temples.
When a villager complained about poor sanitation and lack of toilets in his locality, Mr Naidu responded, “All those having a cellphone raise your hands. I can see most of you have cellphones. Probably a person owns two, one to talk to family members and the other to talk to friends and outsiders. When you can afford two cell phones each, why are you negligent about having a toilet at home? Sanitation, most importantly toilets, is necessary to maintain health. This government is committed to provide toilets and better living conditions. We will provide them.”
While speaking about the importance of having toilets, Mr Naidu also advised unmarried women to not get married to men who did not have toilets in their homes. “Girls should not marry boys who do not have the bare necessity like a toilet in home,” he said.
