FIR filed against 9-year-old boy in Uttar Pradesh for disrupting peace

Senior police officials assured action against the policemen who booked the minor

New Delhi: In a surprising incident, a nine-year-old boy studying in class three, was booked under Section 107 of the Indian Penal Code in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, for disrupting peace, reportedly after the police cleared his name following an inquiry.

While senior police officials have assured that action will be taken against the policemen found guilty of booking the minor student for disrupting the peace, political leaders have unanimously criticized the incident.

BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh told ANI, "Uttar Pradesh Police is unable to capture real criminals so is going after minors. This goes to show the failure of Akhilesh government to handle law and order in UP."

BJP leader Nalin Kohli, too, echoed similar statements, "It's extremely condemnable that a nine-year-old had been taken into it. I hope that action will be taken against those who are involved in it."

Sudindra Bhadoria of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) said, " FIR lodged against a nine-year-old boy is ridiculous. Not only in Firozabad, but it's happening in whole of Uttar Pradesh. If law and order situation is not good in UP, then it's because of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav."

Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Naresh Agarwal also said, "Someone must have complained against him, police should investigate the matter."

Meanwhile, investigation is reportedly underway and senior police official have assured that action will be taken if any police personnel is found guilty.
