Kishan Reddy re-elected state chief

Amberpet MLA G. Kishan Reddy was elected Telangana state BJP president for the second term

Hyderabad: Amberpet MLA G. Kishan Reddy was elected Telangana state BJP president for the second term at a party meeting held at Sangareddy on Tuesday.

Party national general-secretary J.P. Nadda attended as an observer and declared Mr Kishan Reddy’s name as unanimous choice for the position.

Speaking after being elected, Mr Kishan Reddy urged the state BJP unit to be vigilant and fight against the TRS government’s anti-people policy and more importantly against the Majlis appeasement policy. He said the Congress in its 10 years of rule in the state made it a policy to appease the Majlis and the new Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is also treading the same path of favouring the Muslims and Christians, much against the wishes of the majority community.

Mr Kishan Reddy came down heavily on the TRS government for doing nothing other than making provocative statements for the past two months. He said the state government has failed miserably on the power front and has been unable to supply power to any sector satisfactorily.

“Farmers are on the roads, demanding more power, yet the government has no vision and is engaged in other issues, ignoring the key areas of development,” Mr Kishan Reddy alleged.

He attributed the centre’s plans of establishing AIIMS and a Horticulture University in Telangana to the efforts of local BJP leaders who went to Delhi number of times to meet and convince the mandarins there. He blamed the TRS government for not fulfilling a single poll promise and panned their empty rhetoric and provocative statements.
