Telangana Chief Minister comes out of bus to greet crowd

People from all walks of life accorded a rousing reception to Mr Rao

KARIMNAGAR: Karimnagar city wore a festive look to welcome Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on his maiden visit to the district on Tuesday.

People from all walks of life, including women, students and the TRS activists, accorded a rousing reception to Mr Rao.

Carrying pink flags, TRS functionaries took out a procession from the Gandhi statue at Kothirampur to Karimnagar Munici-pal Corporation after receiving Mr Rao at 11.50 am. They danced and raised slogans hailing Mr Rao, who was accompanied by his son and information technology minister K. Taraka Rama Rao and finance minister Etela Rajendar.

At the same time, a large number of wom-en, carrying ‘bonalu’ and ‘batukammas’, also came on to the streets and accorded a warm welcome to the TRS president and the Chief Minister. They gave ‘harati’ to the Chief Minister.

At some places, the Chiewf Minister even came out of his bullet-proof bus and interacted with the women who gave him haratis.
