YSR Congress goes low budget

Office moves to Jagan’s house to save Rs 1crore rent

Hyderabad: YSR Congress has decided to vacate its party headquarters on Road No. 45 in Jubilee Hills and shift the office to party president Jagan Mohan Reddy’s residence at Lotus Pond in Jubilee Hills.

Sources in the YSRC said that the party, after its defeat in the elections, has begun to exercise cuts in administrative and maintenance costs. “The party has to pay around Rs 1crore per month as rent and other maintenance charges for its current headquarters.

As a part of cost cutting measures, the party has decided to move out. There is a building lying unused at Lotus Pond. It will be used as the party office,” said a YSRC leader.

YSRC will also be setting up its Andhra Pradesh headquarters in the proposed capital soon after it is declared. “We need to have an AP headquarter. Our focus is more on AP and we need a big office in the capital. We will announce it soon after the decision is made on the capital,” said a party source. YSRC is on a saving spree for possible by-election expenses.
