Telangana collectors told to be strict

Collectors and officials concerned will be held responsible for any wrong certificate
Hyderabad: Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has warned district collectors and revenue officials against issuing wrong certificates to people pertaining to nativity, caste and income certificates in the state.
He said collectors and officials concerned will be held responsible for any wrong certificate issued and those officials will be seriously taken to task. He said the government will be “100 per cent employee-friendly” till they work correctly and will not tolerate or spare anyone if they work negligently and issue certificates as per their whims and fancies.
Mr Rao said the government has been paying heavy price for wrong certificates issued, as crores of public money is being wasted, to accord benefits to ineligible based on those certificates.
“Being vigilant and taking extra precautions, while issuing these certificates, as they form the basis for extending various welfare schemes and benefits to the people, offered by the government.
Telangana already suffered a lot on this account of this in the united state and we can't afford to bear anymore. Collectors and revenue staff will have to play a major role in checking the wrong certificates. They will be held responsible if any wrong certificates are found,” said Mr Rao, while speaking at the conference on “Intense Household Survey” here on Friday.
He advised officials to take 10 more days’ time to issue these certificates, but they have
to be fool-proof. "Verification has to be done at household level before issuing these
certificates. Don't issue them in a hurry. Take your own time. Take 10 more days for verification, but the certificates have to be issued without any errors," said Mr Rao.
He said any negligence on the part of the officials in this regard will affect one generation of people and as such there should not be any scope for any kind of laxity in issuing certificates.
