Natwar’s claims can’t hurt me, says Sonia Gandhi

She said that she had seen much worse things in her life
New Delhi: Insisting that she was not hurt over former Union minister Natwar Singh’s revelations, Congress president Mrs Sonia Gandhi on Thursday said she that had seen much worse things like her husband Rajiv Gandhi being assassinated and her mother-in-law Indira Gandhi being shot.
“I am far from getting hurt from these things. These things do not affect me,” she said.
Mr Singh had claimed it was not Sonia’s “inner voice” that prevented her from taking up the Prime Minister’s post, as she had stated then, but opposition from her son Rahul, who was afraid she would be killed like his father and grandmother if she takes up the top job of the country.
