More and more girls are wearing superhero tees these days thanks to the recent hit movies
Esha Gupta have been spotted wearing superhero t-shirts and tops.
Traditionally, it has always been the boys who show their love for superheroes by sporting their favourite characters on tees. However, girls of late have jumped on the bandwagon.
From Batman, Superman to Iron Man, all find a place in the wardrobes of city fashionistas these days. Actress Tamannaah Bhatia was recently seen in a sleeveless Superman vest, echoing a trend set by other stars like Priyanka Chopra and Huma Qureshi, both superhero fans. Another actress often spotted wearing these tees is Esha Gupta.
Commenting on the sudden rise in the superhero and comic strip trend, stylist Sue Ellen Castellino says, “This is because of all the recent superhero movies that have all gone on to become blockbusters. Also, superheroes are part of popular culture and everyone has one hero that they connect with and love.” Sue herself loves wearing Batman t-shirts.
Another reason these tees are a hit is because they are so easy to wear. “Jeans and t-shirts are such an easy and ideal combination. We all wear them and anyone can team them up,” adds Sue.
Designer Archana Rao says, “Fashion is getting more relaxed now. People are opting for dressing casually and going back to their roots. These t-shirts are becoming popular because of this and the fact that everyone has grown up with superheroes and have a connect to them.” She also agrees that the recent movies like Iron Man, X-Men...too have done their bits to boost the craze.
