School bus tragedy: Parents furious, claim police handed them wrong body

Parents claimed that the body was that of Dattu and not of their child Danush alias Darshan

Hyderabad: After the tragedy of 14 kids killed when Nanded Passenger train hit a school bus in Medak district, controversy over handing over the body of a boy kicked off on Friday.

Parents of Danush of Kistapur in Medak who cremated a body handed over to them by the police are now claiming that the cops handed them a wrong body. They claimed that the body was that of Dattu and not of Danush alias Darshan.

Yasodha Hospital authorities said that one Darshan Goud is being treated at their hospital.

Investigating official in the case and the Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. S G Jagadeeshappa said ,”Yesterday parents of Danush took the body identifying him. They are now creating a controversy. They even gave a receipt stating that they received the body. We will sort out the issue.”

Inspector of Police Mr M Muni said, “The boy died in RR Balaji hospital in Kompally and Danush’s father came to the mortuary at Medak hospital and took the body.” However the parents are claiming that the body they cremated is that of Dattu and not of their son Danush alias Darshan. They are demanding DNA fingerprinting test to be conducted to confirm the paternity and maternity.

Meanwhile Telangana State Deputy Chief Minister Mr T Rajaiah visited the Yasodha Hospital. He said ,”Out of 20 kids who are injured four are serious and seven are to be operated today. Nine others are said to be stable."
