Two murder-accused held in Hyderabad with gun, bullets

Culprits who are history sheeters, are involved in many cases

Hyderabad: The south zone task force has nabbed two persons with a country firearm and four live rounds. The culprits who are history sheeters of Bhadurpura police station are involved in many cases including a murder, Arms Act violations and attempt to murder.

The arrested men are Mohammed Habeeb Khan alias Habeeb Sikka, 42, a realtor and resident of Himmath-nagar, Basavakalya-nam, Karnataka, and Ahmed Shamshuddin alias Asgar shah, 35, a realtor and resident of Kanda Reddyguda in Bahdurpura.

Police said the culprits were involved in murders, attempts to murder, assault and Arms Act cases in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy district. In 2000, they were also involved in two undetected cases, a dacoity case in Hussainialam, which has now been transferred to the detective department, and a murder case at Kondapur police station in Sadashivpet of Medak district.

Another person named Asif, 22, from Kishanbagh learnt about the dacoity and started blackmailing Habeeb. They eliminated Asif in Sadashivpet along with six others and packed the body in a bag and took it to the outskirts of Girmapur village and burnt it, police said.

“Habeeb later went to Karnataka and settled down. He purchased the country firearm and live rounds from Wahab of Chandrayangutta for '20,000 to protect himself and to commit offences,” said Mr B. Limba Reddy, additional DCP, task force.

Cops said Habeeb came to the city a few days ago to meet Asgar. Following an alert, both were nabbed. The arrested men and the seized material were handed over to the inspector, Bahadurpura.
