Blind children beating accused get 15 day remand

Cops will consult doctors and will need some time to file children’s health report

Kakinada: K.V. Rao, the correspondent of Green Field Blind Residential School, who was caught on camera brutally caning blind children on July 17, has been remanded for 15 days and was sent to the Kakinada sub-jail. Mr Rao, and the school principal, T. Srinivasa Rao, were produced before the 4th Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Tuesday morning.

The Magistrate sought a report on the children’s health. Police said they will consult the doctors and will need some time to file the report. The accused were then sent to 15-day remand till August 5.

The district sub-jails officer K. Chinna Rao said there was no separate accommodation for blind persons, but another inmate of the jail would assist them with their daily needs.
