I didn’t want to play a dad: Nandish Sandhu

Actors talks about his late entry in the show Beintehaa

Nandish Sandhu, who is the latest entrant on the popular show Beintehaa admits that he feels left out amongst the rest of the cast that has been working together for six months.

“I wish I was there from the beginning of the track, but due to some reason my entry got delayed. Thankfully, I already know Gunjan Vijaya (who plays Fahad’s wife). She is my rakhi sister.”

Was he apprehensive of playing a father onscreen? “I didn’t know about it earlier, and was a bit apprehensive initially, but then I made my peace with it. They told me that the children were 5-6 years old. I told them that I wouldn’t want to play a father to grown up kids and they assured me that it won’t happen. Well, at least for a while.”

The actor adds that he had to brush up on his Urdu for the role. “I’ve done Muslim characters earlier too. In Khwahish I was playing Yasir and recently I did Encounter where I was playing a cop. So I’ve tried to learn Urdu in the past, but had to brush up on it,” says the actor.
