Sanjeev Singla new private secretary to Prime Minister

Mr Singla's posting was cleared by the appointments committee of the Cabinet

New Delhi: Sanjeev Kumar Singla, a 1997-batch IFS officer serving in the Ind-ian Embassy in Israel, has been named private secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He replaces Vikram Misri, a 1989-batch IFS officer, who is India’s new envoy to Spain.

Mr Singla earlier worked as director in the office of former foreign secretary Ranjan Mathai.

His posting was cleared by the appointments committee of the Cabinet.

Mr Misri, was private secretary to former PM Manmohan Singh.

He joined the PMO in 2010 as a joint secretary and in 2012 became PS to the former Prime Minister.
