Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao offered gold bonam and pattu vastras to the goddess Mahankali at the Laldarwaza Temple in old city on the occasion of state festival Bonalu.
Thousands thronged to the 13 important temples in the old city including the Mahankali Temple on Sunday. “If the goddess permits and the people around the temple cooperate, the temple premise will be extended next year by demolishing the houses around it. We will provide the residents with compensation,” said Mr Chandrasekhar Rao.
Apart from Mr Rao, Deputy Chief Minister Mehmood Ali, home minister N. Narasimha Reddy and other senior officials were also present. CLP leader K. Jana Reddy, Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreyya, Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh and a few others offered puja at the temple.
