Puri Jagannath's new 'Cave'

All about the stunning ‘home studio’ the director has built in Hyderabad

After working out of a star hotel for months, Puri Jagannath has built a massive personal space, combining his home and office, at Jubilee Hills. A source close to the director confirmed that an “elaborate and grand” office space had been built near Road number 34. The office (floor) space is around 18000 sft and an approximate Rs 20 crore went into it.

“It has everything related to production, even mini theatres,” says the source. Confirming the news, Puri Jagannath says, “This is my personal space and I opened it on Sunday, with a party for RGV, Prakash Raj and a few others. This home studio is all about me. I can call it an office, home, resort, lounge... you name it. It took over a year, and a month to build. And I’m calling it the ‘Cave’ because the world is a jungle, I’m an animal and I finally, have my own cave.”

Meanwhile, city-based architect Jaya Kiran, who designed Puri’s ‘home studio’ says, “As far as I know, there’s no similar set-up anywhere in the city. While the ground floor has Puri’s office, the first floor has bedrooms, a bar and even a home theatre. And a lot of steel has been used along with California grey stone. The bathroom floors are all cemented and in black because that’s Puri’s favourite colour. The entire 18,000 sft building at Jubilee Hills Road No. 34, has been bought by Puri and it’s all about his own personality.”
