I would rather underplay myself: Anil Kapoor

The actor says that he doesn’t think that he can overshadow his children

Mumbai: He is quintessential “daddy cool” material. Anil Kapoor, who seems to have just knocked off the decades in his appearance, has successfully mentored his children into achieving success in their respective fields.

While Sonam Kapoor is a sought-after name among actresses, her sister Rhea is a successful producer. His son Harshwardhan is also gearing up for his mega debut in Mirza Sahiba that is being directed by the National Award winning filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

However, despite all the glitz and glamour surrounding his children, it’s Anil himself who continues to be in the spotlight. “At this age being in the limelight without making an effort is a compliment,” he says.

Anil is now gearing up for the release of his second film as a producer, Khoobsoorat, that stars Sonam. Does he fear overshadowing his children?

“I don’t think that I can overshadow Sonam or Harsh. They are young and happening. People want to watch them and follow their fashion and style. At my age, I’d rather underplay myself. It’ll give me immense happiness and pride when people will identify me as their father.”
