Hyderabad: Ever since Twitter acquired Vine in October 2012, the video sharing service has been an instant hit.
This was evident from how it went all the way to the top just after seven short months — it became the most downloaded free app in the Apple store in April 2013.
Today, Vine has exceeded 40 million registered users — more than half of whom are female, with the largest age group ranging from 18 to 20 years old.
Five Vine links are tweeted every second, with weekends being the most popular time to share Vine posts.
