Gang held for murder and robbery in Cyberabad

The inebriated victims were robbed off their gold and silver ornaments
Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Cyberabad Central crime station nabbed a notorious gang for murder and robbery. Three of the accused are women. The police said the accused targetted lone women wearing jewellery around liquor shops in areas like Hyderguda in Shamshabad.
“While drinking liquor, the women in the gang offered to help their targets. They promised jobs to their victims and under the pretext of introducing them to the owners, they would take their victims to isolated places and rob them,” said G. Janaki Sharmila, DCP (crimes).
The inebriated victims were robbed off their gold and silver ornaments, and other valuables. They were attacked if they resisted.
“The accused would beat their victims and even murder them. They would even go to the extent of chopping off their victim’s hands or legs to get the ornaments,” Ms Sharmila said.
The accused are Varikuppala Parvathamma alias Pavithra, 25, Vorsu Venkataiah, 40, Dhandugula Thimmappa, 52, Dhandugala Shivam alias Yellam, 35, Raju, and Indira. The accused confessed to four cases, including a murder. The police also recovered stolen items from them. During interrogation it was revealed that Pavithra, along with Raju and Indira, had committed a murder in Rajendranagar. Further interrogation revealed that she and Venkataiah had committed two robberies in Rajendranagar and Mailardevpally.
