Chief Minister wants to develop more ports in the state as it has the longest coast line

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wants to develop more ports in the state as it has the longest coast line. A delegation from Indian Merchants Chambers, Mumbai, led by Prabod B. Takkar met Mr Naidu on Monday at his camp office. Expressing his target of constructing 10 ports in the state, Mr Naidu asked for the help of the Chamber in this regard.

He added that the ports would be useful to transport goods to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Mr Naidu said Andhra Pradesh has famous temples in Tirupati, Srisailam, Simhachalam and Annavaram which attract Indian and foreign tourists centres, he added.

He said Vijayawada city has 20 km of banks along the Krishna River. If commercial and education centres are developed on both sides of the river, the city could grow as one of the main cities in the world.
