Andhra Pradesh, Telangana asked about stand on new SSC exam pattern

Parents claim imposing new exam pattern on Class X students not correct

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday sought to know the stand of the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on a plea challenging a government order issued to change the SSC examination pattern.

Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao was dealing with two writ petitions by parents of students of SSC, challenging Para 2(h) of a GO issued on May 17, 2014, by the school education department, changing the examination pattern from the academic year 2014-15.

A. Satya Prasad, senior counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the GO stipulates that the children must be trained to think critically and construct the answers on their own. He contended that imposing such reforms suddenly on the students studying in Class X will have serious impact on the children.

The judge directed both governments to respond within six weeks.
