Hyderabad: Activists belonging to All India Students’ Federation tried to lay siege to the Telangana Secretariat on Wednesday, demanding early commencement of counselling for Eamcet and all other professional courses.
They raised slogans against the government alleging that it has been trying to stall the admissions process under the guise of Telangana nativity norms on fee reimbursement. Police prevented the students from entering the Secretariat.
Gandhinagar police rushed to the spot and took agitating students into custody. Students said instead of trying to sort out nativity issues with the Andhra Pradesh government, the Telangana government is trying to complicate the situation further by stalling the counselling for admissions. They expressed concern that lakhs of students will be affected if counselling is further delayed.
