Budget 2014: Finance Minister proposed aids and facilities for differently abled

Braille institute and special textbooks are also to be introduced

Mumbai: Announcing the Union Budget 2014-15 on July 10, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, on behalf of the Narendra Modi government, proposed the provision of aids and amenities for the differently abled. The government has proposed to purchase fitting and appliances according to the needs and comforts of the differently abled to help them come at par with other citizen of the country.

Jaitley also proposed to set up more number of mental institutes in the country. For the visually impaired, a proposal for special textbooks, Braille on the currency notes has been put forward. Along with that, 15 new Braille presses are to be established and revival of 10 existing has been announced.
