Rahul Gandhi’s sleeping act in Parliament leaves Twitteratis in splits

'Just because people close their eyes in Parliament doesn't mean they are sleeping’

New Delhi: Twitter spares none. This time around it has targeted Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for his sleeping act in the Parliament.

Television footage showed 44-year-old Gandhi yawning and napping even as lawmakers discussed the simmering issue of price rise and inflation.

Even as the Congress is attempting to revive its image after the 2014 poll debacle, such unwarranted controversies are bound to act as a roadblock.

BJP leader Shahnawaaz Hussain tweeted, "Rahul Gandhi was seen sleeping in Parliament during a debate on price rise. That's what the Congress was doing during their 10 yr rule."

Meanwhile, Congress outrightly rejected such claims. Senior NCP leader Praful Patel said, "Just because people close their eyes in Parliament doesn't mean they are sleeping."
