Ra Ra Krishnayya movie review: This flick fails to impress

Inspired by Hindi movie Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, movie has very predictable storyline

Cast: Sundeep Kishan, Jagapathi Babu, Regina Cassandra, Brahmaji
Director: P Mahesh Babu
Rating: Two stars

Hyderabad: After the success of Venkatadri Express, young actor Sundeep Kishan stars in Ra Ra Krishnayya. For the second time, Regina Cassandra is the female lead opposite Sundeep, while another young debutant, P. Mahesh Babu, is the director.

Kittu (Sundeep Kishan) is a cab driver who works for Manikyam (Thanikella Bharani). He works hard and trusts his boss. But the boss cheats Kittu who, in retaliation, kidnaps his daughter Nandeeswari (Regina) and demands a ransom.

Nandeeswari, meanwhile, is looking for a way to escape from a marriage arranged by her father and she uses this opportunity and actually helps Kittu in the kidnap and forces him to ask for more money from her father. During their journey, the two fall in love but Kittu wants to return Nandeeswari to her parents as he doesn’t want to be called a kidnapper. Suddenly Jaggu Bhai (Jagapathi Babu) kidnaps Nandeeswari and takes her to his village.

Who is Jaggu Bhai and why he kidnaps Nandeeswari forms the crux of the story.

It seems as if Tollywood filmmakers are running out of ideas. In recent times, some of the Telugu films have been remakes, but this film is just a free make of the Hindi film Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya.

Though a copy, director Mahesh Babu has not been able to make the film interesting. With a slow narration and mediocre story, the film will test your patience. Believe it or not, in the film, Jagapathi Babu’s family actually runs a business named “Kidnapping”.

Most artistes improve with time but Sundeep Kishan is getting worse. Without any expressions, the actor is unable to deliver the much-needed performance. Whether it’s an emotional, comic or an aggressive scene, his dialogue modulation and expression remains the same.

It’s actually Jagapathi Babu who steals the show. He comes in the second half and makes a few scenes interesting. Thagubothu Ramesh evokes a few laughs. Regina once again comes out with flying colours.

The director hasn’t made any efforts to improve and make the remake an interesting one. With a mediocre screenplay and a predictable storyline, the movie fails to impress.
