Mumbai: Bollywood is not alien to insecurities, rivalry and catfights. But the trend appears to be changing.
Recently, Vidya Balan didn’t shy away from appreciating fellow actresses’ work while promoting her own film Bobby Jasoos.
Vidya was talking about how very few roles are written keeping the actress in mind. “It’s a challenging job to choose the best from what is offered to us. To a certain extent I’ve been fortunate in being able to choose good work,” she said.
The National Award winner went on to add, “I think Deepika has the knack of smelling a good script. It was brilliant how she held her own in Chennai Express.”
Deepika isn’t the only one Vidya praised. “There is enough work in this industry for everyone. If I’ve loved Priyanka Chopra’s performance in Barfi or Deepika’s in Ram-Leela, I wouldn’t hesitate to say it.”
It seems her good karma is paying off. Last heard, Deepika had expressed a desire to make time to watch Bobby Jasoos despite a choc-a-bloc schedule.
