Telangana staff told not to honour Andhra Pradesh issued G O

Telangana government has directed officials in Khammam district to maintain status quo

Khammam: Telangana is ignoring the government order issued by Andhra Pradesh merging the transferred mandals in the revenue divisions of Rampachodavaram and Jangareddygudem in East and West Godavari districts respectively. But the Telangana government is taking the GO seriously. It has directed officials in Khammam district not to honour the GO and maintain status quo.

Chief Secretary Rajiv Sarma asked officials to extend all services including civil supplies from district headquarters. The AP government would get full-fledged powers on the transferred mandals after the Ordinance on transferring mandals passed in Parliament. Then, it would be treated as an Act and the AP government will inform Telangana on the Act. In turn it will issue a GO referring to the Act.

Joint collector Surendra Mohan said, “The state government is of the view of not honouring the GO because it is issued not following proper procedures.”

He said that essential commodities would continue to be supplied to these mandals.

On the other hand, all the mandal revenue officers of seven mandals were asked to follow the orders of the Telanga-na government till a GO came from Telangana government.
