Telugu Desam accused of state-sponsored terrorism

YSRC claimed that 17 of its workers were murdered after TD took over reins

Hyderabad: The YSR Congress has alleged that Telugu Desam has been resorting to “vindictive politics” and described the death of its leader Bhaskar Reddy in Giddaluru of Prakasam district as a ‘state-sponsored murder’.

The YSRC had decided to represent the matter to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan seeking his intervention. YSRC spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said, “The vindictive nature of the TD government has come to the fore following the suspension of a sub-inspector in Krishna district for arresting a TD worker following complaint by the YSRC cadre. Meanwhile, in Giddalur, our party leader was mercilessly beaten up by the police resulting in his death. This is state-sponsored violence."

The YSRC claimed that 17 of its workers were murdered, 110 persons were injured, 40 of them seriously, after TD took over the reins.
