I have a lot of expectations: Vijay Krishna Acharya

Director will be making his debut on tv as judge on India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj

Mumbai: Dhoom 3 director Vijay Krishna Acharya, also known as Victor, will soon be making his debut on television as a judge on India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj. The winners of the previous editions haven’t been able to make their mark in the industry, but Victor hopes this season will be different.

He says, “I have a lot of expectations from the coming season. I hope to find a lot of good performers on this show and we too have things to learn from them. But how their career will pan out, only time will tell.”

So what kind of talent is Victor looking for? “Acting is hard to define. In case of a singer it’s easy to decide whether they are good or bad. But acting depends on how people react to it. We are hoping that through this show we are able to give opportunities to people who are talented, be it in films or TV,” he says.

What does Victor notice in an actor first? “I look for ability. There are some people who grab your attention when they are on screen and it isn’t always that they are very good looking or that they can dance well. It is acting alone that can take you ahead in the industry,” he says.

Victor is not keen on revealing much about his next venture. He says, “I’m writing something and in the next few months I will be able to make an announcement. I have two scripts in mind. I haven’t decided which one to go ahead with first. I believe the story chooses you rather than the other way round. ”

After creating villainous characters out of John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan in the Dhoom series, one wonders who would he cast if at all there is a Dhoom 4. “Leonardo Di Caprio,” pat comes the reply.
