Reddy to withdraw all cases against those who fought for Telangana

Hyderabad: BJP Telangana president G. Kishan Reddy on Thursday asked the Union Railway Ministry to withdraw all cases booked against those who fought for Telangana statehood.

In a letter addressed to Railway minister Sadanand Gowda, Mr Kishan Reddy said that people of Telangana had conducted many agitations in the past few years demanding separate statehood for Telangana, and due to their efforts a separate state was formed.

He said as part of the stir rail roko was observed at many places during the 43-day Sakala Janula Samme (general strike) and the Railway authorities slapped cases against the activists.

“There are three cases against me also. I request you to take appropriate steps to see that the cases booked against the Telangana activists at different places are immediately withdrawn.”

Mr Kishan Reddy said the state government is also thinking about withdrawing all cases booked by the police against those who fought for statehood.
