Telgu Desam slams K Chandrasekhar Rao for not thanking N Chandrababu Naidu

L Ramana criticised CM for not thanking Naidu for his letter in favour of Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana TD leaders criticised Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for the way the recent Assembly session, which was adjourned sine die on Saturday, was conducted. Speaking to the media on Sunday, TD deputy floor leader Revanth Reddy accused Mr Rao of acting like a dictator. In a separate press conference, Telangana TD president L. Ramana criticised the Chief Minister for not thanking Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his letter to the Centre in favour of formation of Telangana in the past.

Mr Revanth Reddy said that on one hand Mr Rao was seeking the support of the Opposition and on the other hand, he was taking unilateral decisions. He objected to the way 11 resolutions were passed in the Assembly and added that the Chief Minister did not allow the Opposition to speak on the resolutions and got them passed without any discussion.

Mr Ramana said that Mr Rao had thanked AICC president Sonia Gandhi, BJP president Rajnath Singh and other leaders for Telangana but he did not care to thank Mr Naidu. He pointed out that the TD had given a letter to the Centre in favour of a separate Telangana on the basis of which the TRS had an alliance with the TD for the 2009 general elections.

He said that in 2012, the TD had sent the same letter to the Centre a second time but Telangana Chief Minister Mr Rao did not mention this while thanking the other leaders. He added that this was irresponsible on part of Mr Rao, the first CM of Telangana to ignore the contributions of AP Chief Minister.
