Cops arrest two for illegally refilling LPG

Despite the threat to life, the victim would refill using a gas filling machine

Hyderabad: The South Zone Task Force police on Sunday nabbed two people for illegally refilling domestic LPG into autorickshaws. It also seized 10 cylinders from their possession.

The accused were identified as Vonkoda Moti, 26, and J. Srinivas, 28, both residents of Ravindra Naik Colony in Chatrinaka.

According to B. Limba Reddy, additional DCP, Task Force, Moti decided to earn easy money by refilling domestic LPG into the autorickshaws. Despite the threat to life, he would refill in an open plot at Ravinder Naik Colony using a gas filling machine.

“He would purchase the cylinders for Rs 750 from Srinivas who would himself purchase it from consumers for Rs 650 each,” said Mr Reddy. Moti would refill three cylinders with gas from two and earn between Rs 150 to Rs 200 from each customer.

The accused and the seized material were handed over to the Chatrinaka police.
