Andhra Pradesh heat wave set to subside

There will be no severe heat wave warning over the next two days

Visakhapatnam: Indian Meteorological Department said that heat wave conditions prevailed over parts of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, East and West Godavari, Guntur and Nellore districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and in Khammam and Nalgonda districts of Telangana and Chittoor of Rayalaseema.

There will be no severe heat wave warning for these areas over the next two days.

The IMD also predicted a fall in temperature over coastal Andhra Pradesh, which will lead to abatement of heat wave conditions.

Met officials clarified that low pressure trough between Odisha and South Tamil Nadu has been steady and rains started in northern parts of India leading to a fall in temperatures giving respite.

Late night rains in Vizag on Friday followed by gales damaged banana, papaya and other crops at Parawada and adjoining mandals.

The city recorded temperatures of 35 degrees and the airport area at 40 degrees on Saturday.
