The popular character artiste and comedian passed away after a massive cardiac arrest

Hyderabad: Popular character artiste and comedian Telangana Sakuntala passed away on Thursday night after a massive cardiac arrest.
According to our sources, the actress had a cardiac arrest at her residence in Kompally and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. But the doctors at the hospital said she was brought dead. She was 63 and is survived by a son and a daughter.
Her body was kept at the Film Chamber office in the afternoon for the public to pay their last respects.
Sakuntala was born in Maharashtra and started her career in theatre. Her debut in Telugu cinema was in 1981 with Maa Bhoomi. She went on to act in more than 70 films.
Her Telangana dialect and accent made her popular as Telangana Sakuntala.
