A tablet for the Windows fans

Xolo launches a 10.1 inch Windows tablet

Mumbai: Many users would like to have at least basic PC functions on their tablets. But as they quickly find, Android is a poor substitute for Windows. So Xolo's Windows Tab - a tablet preloaded with Windows 8.1 and Microsoft Home Office & Student 2013 version- is good news. The large (10.1 inch) display will make the device feel even more like a small notebook PC - with the capacitive touch screen, a bonus.

This is also the first tablet in India fuelled by an AMD chip set - the dual-core Temash A4-1200 processor and Radeon HD 8180 Graphic Processor combo has been specially designed for tablets. Just 750 grams, XOLO Win is powered by 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. There is a micro port for HDMI and an Internet dongle, keyboard, headphones or even a printer can be connected through the Mini USB port. It also has a micro SD card reader and a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones.

The tablet is WiFi ready, but surprisingly, doesn't have a phone SIM slot. It comes with a 2 Megapixel primary camera and a 1 Megapixel HD front camera and promises a battery life of 6 hours. It costs at Rs 19,990, but FlipKart offers a buyback of up to Rs 3000 for an old tablet or laptop.
