FIFA World Cup 2014: Oscar's goal seals victory for Brazil

Sao Paulo: Oscar's injury time goal seals the match for Brazil as they cruise to a comfartable 3-1 victory over Croatia in the opening match of FIFA World Cup 2014. Neymar also played important role in his team to victory by scoring two goals.
Brazil and Croatia ended the first half with one goal apiece after an entertaining first half. Marcelo's own goal in the 11th minute helped Croatia take the lead aginst host nation. Brazil came back strongly but both Fred and Neymar failed to connect to Oscars cross from right hand side. Neymar received a yellow card and in the 27th minute and within two minutes he scored a equaliser for Brazil.
The Second half resumed with hosts putting pressure on their opponent. Brazil were finally awarded for their efforts when Croatian defender Dejan Lovren brought down Brazilian striker Fred inside the penalty box to give away penalty.
Neymar hesitancy allowed Pletikosa to read his intentions. The keeper dived to his right, and got a hand to Neymar's penalty shot but he failed to keep the ball outside the goal. Oscar though sealed the match in the injury time as his low shot beat keeper Pletikosa to hand hi team victory.
After the glittering opening ceremony host nation Brazil and Croatia will be playing the opening match of FIFA World Cup 2014. A confident Croatia is ready to spoil Brazil's party in their World Cup opener and continue a long tradition of first match upsets at the tournament.
With all the pressure on the host team, Croatia coach Niko Kovac said Wednesday that his team can deliver a "historic result" in Today's match in Sao Paulo. Even a draw would significantly enhance Croatia's chances of advancing from a group that also includes Mexico and Cameroon. Stay tuned as live match report is coming up shortly
