Governor E S L Narasimhan assures security, equal opportunities for all in Telangana

Hyderabad: Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Wednesday assured that every resident of Telangana would be extended equal status and ensured safety and security without any prejudice.

In his address to the joint session of the Telangana Legislature, he said that the government was determined to make Hyderabad one of the “most livable cities of the world” on par with cities like Melbourne, Vienna, Vancouver and Toronto.

Mr Narasimhan paid tributes to the hundreds of youngsters who had sacrificed their careers, studies and lives for achieving statehood for Telangana. He added that the Telangana government would extend Rs 10 lakh monetary assistance to each of the bereaved families of Telangana martyrs besides government jobs to one person from each family.

He said that the government was committed to root out “political corruption” at any cost by implementing a transparent strategy to eliminate graft at all levels.

“My government would like to transform Hyderabad into a world-class city with a distinct brand image. We will strive to make Hyderabad a slum-free urban conglomerate by establishing planned satellite townships as per their specific master plans, which will accommodate those poorer sections and migrants, who come in search of a better future to the city of fortune,” he said.
