FIFA World Cup 2014: Scooter powers England fan to Brazil

Chris Hallett rode 24,000 kilometres on a scooter to cheer England in Brazil

Rio de Janeiro: England football team at the World Cup have many supporters. However, there would not be many who could ride for 24,000 kilometres on a Vespa scooter to cheer the national team in Brazil.

Aged 44, Chris Hallett, did the unthinkable as he travelled to Brazil on his scooter driving for four months to reach Brazil from London.

While the trip had been exhausting for Chris, it was still exhilarating.

"I am a bit knackered. My backside definitely feels like I have ridden 15,000 miles," he was quoted as saying in the London Evening Standard.

He also said: "Obviously, the easier option would be to fly to Brazil and sit on a beach waiting for the World Cup to begin. But where’s the fun in that?”

Hallet will be cheering for England as they face Costa Rica in Belo Horizonte June 24.

Hallett is currently using his life savings to fund his ‘Scooters for Goalposts’ ride in aid of charity UNICEF.
