Homeless AAP? Party looking for new office in New Delhi

‘We are looking for an office in Connaught Place in the heart of New Delhi’

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party leaders are busy hunting for a new office for the party these days.

The AAP's move comes after residents living on Hanuman Road, where the party presently works from a two-storied building, complained of noise and disturbance due to presence of its supporters and media, even as the party's request for government land to build its office remains pending.

"We have started searching for new party's office. We are trying to mostly look for office in Connaught Place in the heart of national capital," said an AAP leader.

He also said that party's Hanuman Road office is too small to operate from as hundreds of supporters visit daily.

The party has already asked the Urban Development ministry to allot it a plot for constructing the party headquarters as it has now become a state party.

"The party has not got any response from the Ministry regarding our plot request and nothing has been finalised yet.

Unless we get government land for our headquarters, we will have to operate party office from a rented building in the national capital," he also said.

He also added that AAP, which won four seats in Punjab, is also looking for a government land there to run its office.

At present, the building from where AAP's office is operating on 41, Hanuman Road in Delhi reportedly belongs to an NRI and has been rented out to the party on a token Rs 1 per month.
