Man arrested for debit card fraud in Cyberabad

The accused used to stand behind customers in ATMs and note debit card numbers, PINs

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Cyber Crime police on Monday arrested a person in a debit card fraud case.

Police said the man used to follow customers who came to ATM centers to withdraw cash.

Standing close to them he used to note down card numbers and PINs.

Later, he made several online transactions worth Rs 1.1 lakh using the information.

The accused V. Nageshwar Reddy and his associate Jayavardhan Reddy (absconding), both ex-convicts, are involved in about half a dozen cases.

Nageshwar Reddy was nabbed at Miyapur. During interrogation he confessed.

He said he used to stand near customers at ATM centers and note down details of debit cards. He also confessed to have collected debit card details of SBI and Andhra Bank customers from Nizampet, KPHB Colony, Erragadda and Chintal areas.
