Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy criticised N Chandrababu Naidu's 'costly' show

Nara Lokesh defends his father for not spending Rs 30 crore

Rajahmundry, Guntur: YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy criticised the Telugu Desam for allegedly spending Rs 30 crore for Mr Chandrababu Naidu’s swearing-in. He also confirmed that he would not attend the ceremony, despite being invited personally.

Mr Reddy said that in order to avoid controversy over the unnecessary spending, to which he doesn’t want to be a party, he would skip the ceremony.

Considering the present financial situation of AP, he said the gala show was unnecessary.

Nara Lokesh, son of Mr Naidu, took strong objection to Mr Reddy’s charge.

Mr Lokesh said that it had become a habit for YSRC leaders to criticise the Telugu Desam and its activities. He asked the YSRC chief to prove that Rs 30 crore was being spent for the ceremony. Mr Lokesh said the swearing-in ceremony was being conducted in a grand manner to attract investment from other states.

Mr Lokesh on Saturday inspected the arrangements being made for the ceremony at the venue near the Nagarjuna University.

He recalled that Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy had also conducted his swearing-in in a grand fashion.

Mr Lokesh said the visit of national leaders to the ceremony would be very useful to Andhra Pradesh and its development.
