After shoulder injury recovery, Shah Rukh Khan bulks up

SRK has been working out intensively to beef up for action scenes in Happy New Year

Mumbai: After severely injuring his right shoulder and left kneecap in an accident on the sets of his film Happy New Year, Shah Rukh Khan seems to have completely recovered. He has been working out for a month now to put on some bulk before he films some high-octane action sequences for the film.

“Shah Rukh was advised by his doctor to avoid exercising for a couple of months as it could worsen his injury. At that time, he knew that the shooting schedule of the action scenes is months away and he could start preparing for it once his injuries healed,” a source close to the actor told us.

As soon as he had recuperated, he rang his trainer Prashant Sawant and began the process of bulking up, along with some functional training to enhance joint mobility. Our source says, “Since last month, he is training not once but twice a day at Mannat. He is doing functional training, which is a mix of cardio and weights. One session lasts for about 90 minutes and the intensity increases every week. His diet has been altered to suit the workout.”

When contacted, SRK’s trainer Prashant Sawant confirmed, “Yes, we began the preparation a couple of months ago and he is completely fit today.”
