Jayalalithaa leadership will spur industrial growth: Pon Radhakrishnan

Pon said that Centre would trigger economic growth by taking up appropriate projects

Chennai: Union minister of state for heavy industries and public enterprises Pon Radhakrishnan has exuded the hope that the state government under the leadership of chief minister J. Jayalalithaa will foster better industrial growth in the state.

The MoS who held a detailed talks with the chief minister in the national capital on the subject, discussed about exploring the feasibility of establishing more industries in TN. “The meeting was mutually beneficial. We discussed various issues including the feasibility of setting up new industrial projects in the state,” Mr Radhakrishnan said.

It is reliably learnt that the CM had assured of her government’s total support for taking new ventures besides promoting industrial development in a big way.

Mr Pon Radhakrishnan who had earlier expressed that the Narendra Modi government would extend due support to the development of Kerala despite the state having no representation in the ministry, said that the Centre would ensure employment and trigger economic growth by taking up appropriate projects.

It may be noted that during a reception accorded to him by BJP members upon his elevation as Union minister in Kaliakkavilai in Kanyakumari district from where he was elected as MP, Mr Radhakrishnan assured to bring central projects benefiting the rubber and other industries.

On the 29 Tamil Nadu fishermen arrested and released by the Sri Lankan government, the minister recalled immediately after learning about their arrest, he had called on external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday and sought her urgent intervention in securing the release of the fishermen.
