Sunny Leone out, Neetu Chandra in?

Oru Oorla Rendu Raja makers replaced Sunny with Neetu to shake a leg

Chennai: Ever since Sunny Leone signed her first Tamil film, Vadacurry, for an item number, many filmmakers in K’town wanted to enlist the Bollywood glam doll for their films.

Rumours were rife that Sunny would be shaking a leg with comedian Parotta Soori in his next film, Oru Oorla Rendu Raja, which is directed by R. Kannan of Settai fame. One also hears that she has demanded a remuneration of Rs 35 lakhs for the film, which is Rs 10 lakhs higher than what she was paid for Vadacurry.

However, the director refutes the rumours, “It’s true that we approached her for an item number, which will be shot in Chalakudy at Kerala. But unfortunatedly, due to date issues, she was not able to travel for the song; it’s a beautiful rain song, shot in an exotic location.”

His next choice will be a Bollywood actor too, but he cannot reveal any names as they are yet to be finalised. A source tells us that the team might approach Neetu Chandra for the song as she had already worked on one in the director’s previous film, Settai, a remake of the Bollywood blockbuster, Delhi Belly.

“OORR is an exciting travel story which happens on a train,” says Kannan, the director. “It has all the commercial elements with an intense story line; 95 per cent of the shoot is done. Vemal, Soori and Priya Anand are playing the main leads in the film. Soori plays a role that is not restricted to that of a comedian; it gives him enough scope to perform.”
